Wix provides a set of APIs to help businesses manage Wix user access and team collaboration efficiently. These APIs allow account owners to invite and assign roles to team members, and to manage the collaborators of individual sites.
User management covers 2 levels of access:
- Site-level users: Manage who can access a specific site. Invite collaborators to a site, and retrieve and update collaborator roles for a specific site.
- Account-level users: Manage the team members of an entire account. Invite Wix users to join an account as team members with defined roles and permissions, and assign and modify team member roles to control access to Wix assets such as sites and domains.
- Account: A collection of Wix assets, including sites, domains, and premium plans, managed by 1 or more Wix users.
- Role: A predefined or custom access level assigned to a Wix user in an account or site.
- Team Member: A Wix user added to an account with assigned roles and access to specific assets.
- User: A logged-in individual on Wix who may have different roles in multiple accounts or sites.
- Collaborator (Contributor): A Wix user invited to edit or manage a site owned by a different Wix account.
- Assignment: The mapping of a Wix user's access to an asset, including their assigned role.
- Invite: An email invitation sent to a Wix user to join an account or contribute to a site.
- Site Invite Lifecycle: The process from invite creation to role assignment upon acceptance.
