About Wix's Site APIs

Wix's Site APIs enable businesses to manage who can access and work on each of their sites. Use these APIs to invite Wix users to collaborate on a specific site, and to manage the roles of the site's existing collaborators.

Terminology

  • Site collaborator (contributor): A Wix user added to a specific site, with no access to account-level data. 1 Wix user can be a collaborator of multiple sites associated with multiple accounts.
  • Role: A defined type of access that a Wix user has on a specific site or account. Wix provides several predefined roles, such as website manager and website designer. Account owners and co-owners can also define their own custom roles. See Roles and Permissions.
  • Site invite: An email invitation sent to a Wix user to contribute to a site with specified roles.
  • Site invite lifecycle: The process from invite creation to role assignment upon acceptance.
  • Team member: A Wix user added to an account, with access to 1 or more sites and other assets. Manage team members with the Account APIs.
