Calling Wix APIs with authentication context allows you to use functions that return different responses based on who calls them, such as [`getCurrentMember()`](https://dev.wix.com/docs/sdk/backend-modules/members/members/get-current-member.md). Calling the HTTP Functions API using [access tokens](https://dev.wix.com/docs/rest/app-management/oauth-2/introduction.md) or [API Keys](https://dev.wix.com/docs/rest/articles/getting-started/api-keys.md) sends authentication context to your site’s HTTP functions.
