A new tutorial is available: Extend an Existing Object with a Site-Specific Field.
This tutorial demonstrates how to add custom fields to a Wix API object for a specific site using the Data Extension Schema API to access and manage the site's _user_fields namespace. Unlike schema plugins, which extend objects globally for all your app’s users, this approach adds fields that only affect the specified site, enabling more granular and tailored data management.

A new method, setBackgroundScroll(), is now available in the wix window frontend API. This method allows you to set whether a site visitor can scroll a site in the background while a lightbox popup is open.

After this date, the wix-events-frontend API will no longer be supported or receive updates. Please update your implementations to use the replacement APIs for continued support and access to new features.

A new method, getSiteInfo(), is now available in the Dashboard API. This method returns information about the site's editor, including whether it’s available, currently active, and its publishing status.

A new method, deleteUserDefinedFields, is now available in the Data Extension Schema API.

The Experiences API lets you create and manage unique dining experiences at restaurants, such as wine tastings, chef’s tables, or special menus.

You can now extend specific nested array fields in Schema Plugins. When extending fields inside a nested array, your fields are added to the `extendedFields `property on the nested array item.

The Branches API is no longer in Developer Preview. This means that the API is not subject to breaking changes and can be used in production.

The Forum APIs were deprecated on October 15, 2025. To maintain and manage an online community for site members to interact and participate in discussions, use the [Groups API](https://dev.wix.com/docs/api-reference/crm/community/groups/introduction).

Wix Forum will be discontinued on March 1, 2026. After this date, forums and all their data will be deleted. Migrate forum data before this deadline to avoid losing any content.

The Data Sharing API enables sharing collections between multiple sites within the same Wix account. Using a two-sided workflow, you can create a policy to make a collection shareable, and you can connect to that policy from other sites in the same account to access and work with the shared collection.

The Categories API allows you to define settings for a specified group of comments.

The Wix Holiday Sale will run from October 20, 2025, through January 2, 2026.

This seasonal promotion is designed to help you grow your user base and increase your app’s visibility by enabling discounts on your app’s plans. The sale will be promoted across Wix, resulting in high traffic and exposure for participating apps.

A new method is available to delete multiple form schemas at once.

The Bookings Time Slots API allows you to retrieve information about when services are available for booking. You can check availability for single-service or multi-service bookings, and get detailed information about each time slot including: whether the slot is bookable, available resources, and any booking restrictions.

The Bookings Availability Calendar API will be deprecated on Mar 31, 2026. It has been replaced with the Bookings Time Slots API and will be removed on March 31, 2026.

New methods in the Bookings API enable you to create and manage multi-service bookings. This allows customers to book service packages that include multiple single-service bookings, scheduled sequentially within a single transaction.

The Data Permissions API manages access control for data collections, allowing you to determine who can perform actions on collection items.

A new method is available to retrieve a list of up to 100 events that belong to the same event category.

The [$w Breadcrumbs](https://dev.wix.com/docs/velo/velo-only-apis/$w/breadcrumbs/introduction) element now supports the `ariaLabel` property in its `accessibility` object. This allows you to specify a custom [ARIA label](https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/Accessibility/ARIA/Reference/Attributes/aria-label) for Breadcrumbs, improving accessibility for assistive technology users.

The Contacts Notes API allows you to create and manage notes associated with a specific contact on a site. With this new API, Wix users can document interactions, meetings, phone calls, and other important details about their contacts to stay organized and have relevant context for future interactions.

The Wix Branches API enables you to create and manage branches within a Wix site. A branch is a version of draft site content that can be edited independently of the published site, that is also known as a test site.

Note that not all elements support the `accessibility` object, and support for individual accessibility properties varies by element. For example:

The FAQ Categories API allows you to view and manage categories in the Wix FAQ app.
The FAQ Question Entries API lets you manage FAQ questions and answers.
Together, the Categories and Question Entries APIs provide a complete FAQ management system: categories structure the information, while question entries hold the content.

You can now publish pricing changes for your published apps instantly, without needing to submit them for review. The previous 30-day notice period for pricing updates is no longer required, making it faster and easier to adjust your app's pricing.

The Wix Chat Backend API has been deprecated.

- The `sendMessage()` function has been replaced with the Inbox SDK  [`sendMessage()`](https://dev.wix.com/docs/sdk/backend-modules/inbox/messages/send-message) method.
- Events have been replaced with [Velo Inbox Events](https://dev.wix.com/docs/velo/events-service-plugins/inbox/events/on-message-sent-to-business).
