# About the Communication APIs

The Communication APIs allow you to manage email subscriptions for a site's contacts and communicate with a site's visitors, contacts, and members through Wix Chat, SMS, a Facebook business page, or other channels.

With the Communication APIs, you can:

+ Send [messages](https://dev.wix.com/docs/rest/crm/communication/inbox/messages/list-messages.md) on behalf of the business or a visitor.
