We've added a new article that explains how to call backend SDK methods across all Wix development environments. The article covers Wix Sites, Wix CLI apps, self-hosted apps, Wix-managed headless, self-managed headless, and Wix Blocks, with code examples for each context including site pages, dashboard pages, backend code, and extensions. It also covers how to use elevation when SDK methods require higher-level permissions than the calling identity has, and how to set up authenticated Wix clients in self-hosted and self-managed environments.

Wix skills are now available for CLI projects, along with two new commands for managing them:

Wix skills let external AI tools, such as Cursor, work with the Wix CLI by providing the instructions and context needed to develop, deploy, and manage CLI projects. The article describes how skills work, which development tasks they support, and how to add and manage skills when building with the CLI.

A new method, Remove Contributor, is now available in the User Management Contributors API. This method enables you to remove an existing contributor from a specific site. Use this method to revoke a contributor’s role and access on that site while keeping their contributor status for other sites or at the account level unchanged.

The [Wix CLI](https://dev.wix.com/docs/wix-cli/guides/about-the-wix-cli) is no longer in Developer Preview. This means that the CLI is stable, not subject to breaking changes, and can be used in production.

You can now edit a headless project created the Wix CLI using the Wix Vibe UI. This lets you choose your preferred interface at any point, without maintaining separate project setups. The `wix connect` command links an existing headless CLI project to Vibe so both interfaces work against the same project.

We've added a new article that explains how you can use custom code to extend Wix sites with HTML, JavaScript, and CSS snippets. The article covers common use cases like integrating 3rd-party services, adding custom styling, running client-side JavaScript, and enhancing SEO with structured data. It also covers limitations and how custom code compares to site code. For [Wix Harmony](https://dev.wix.com/docs/develop-websites-sdk/get-started/overview/about-wix-harmony) sites, which don't support site code, custom code is a helpful way to extend a site's functionality beyond what the editor provides.

The Wix Vibe Code tab now uses a VSCode-based IDE, replacing the previous editor. This upgrade provides an enhanced coding experience with improved autocomplete, a familiar interface, and professional-grade development tools.

The Marketing Emails Sending Domains API lets you authenticate custom domains for sending emails 
lets you authenticate sending domains for marketing emails. This allows emails to use a custom domain in the From field, improving email deliverability, helping establish domain reputation, and helping email providers trust emails sent from a site.
The accompanying Email Domain Setup Flow article provides an end-to-end example that shows how to set up email sending from a custom domain on a Wix site, covering the complete process from email verification through domain authentication.

We’ve consolidated the legacy Wix CLI documentation (for both apps and headless) into the unified Wix CLI reference.

Some updated events now include a `modifiedFields` object. This object contains the values of fields that changed, as they were before the update. Use `modifiedFields` to compare old and new values or to track what changed.

SDK query methods now support the Wix API Query Language syntax. Instead of chaining builder methods such as `.eq('status', 'CONFIRMED').limit(20).find()`, you can pass a structured query object with `filter`, `sorting`, and `paging` properties. The new query syntax supports server-side rendering (SSR) and provides a consistent querying experience across Wix APIs. 

The existing SDK query builder syntax continues to work, but we recommend migrating to the Wix API Query Language syntax as this is our path forward for SDK development.

The Online Store Product Purchase Flow article demonstrates the complete customer purchase journey for online stores using Stores Catalog v3. It shows how customers browse products, add items to their cart, proceed through checkout, and complete their purchase, and how these steps map to the relevant APIs.

The Action Provider service plugin now allows you to specify action timeouts. This allows you to tell Wix to wait for your action's results before proceeding to the next step in the automation flow. 

Action timeouts replace the [Action object](https://dev.wix.com/docs/api-reference/business-management/automations/actions/action-catalog/action-object)'s deprecated `executionType` field.

The Add App Dependencies article explains how to declare required dependencies for your app’s market listing, to ensure that required functionality is available to users by guiding them to install or enable the necessary dependencies when they add your app.

The Automations object now supports a `settings.readOnly` settings that prevents site owners from modifying the automation or any of its actions. The Automations object also supports a `settings.actionSettings` object that controls the editability or skippability of the specified actions.

Each article now has a parallel version that uses Wix SDK code instead of Velo code, so site developers can implement the same functionality using the Wix SDK. The Bookings Staff Member Settings API lets you control the privacy of staff members’ contact information in Wix Bookings. By default, staff contact information is private. You can use this API to configure whether staff members’ email addresses and phone numbers are returned in Staff Members API responses and whether this contact information is displayed on the live site.

With the Staff Member Settings API, you can:
- Retrieve the current privacy settings for a site’s staff contact information.
- Update privacy settings to control when contact information is accessible.
- Respond to privacy setting changes through events.

Consequently, the `email` and `phone` fields in the [Bookings Staff Members API](https://dev.wix.com/docs/api-reference/business-solutions/bookings/staff-members/staff-members/introduction) are only populated if either the business has opted in to publicly display staff members’ contact information or the [identity](https://dev.wix.com/docs/build-apps/develop-your-app/access/about-identities) you’re authenticated as has the `BOOKINGS.STAFF_MEMBER_READ_PI` permission.

The Bookings Staff Sorting service plugin lets you implement custom staff assignment algorithms for Wix Bookings. When customers book services with multiple available [staff members](https://dev.wix.com/docs/api-reference/business-solutions/bookings/staff-members/staff-members/introduction), your logic determines which staff member is assigned, going beyond the built-in random and ranking-based options.

Wix users can choose their preferred staff assignment method for each [booking policy](https://dev.wix.com/docs/api-reference/business-solutions/bookings/policies/booking-policies/introduction) in the dashboard. When you implement the service plugin, we recommend also registering a [dashboard plugin extension](https://dev.wix.com/docs/build-apps/develop-your-app/extensions/dashboard-extensions/dashboard-plugins/about-dashboard-plugin-extensions) for the [staff assignment slot](https://dev.wix.com/docs/build-apps/develop-your-app/extensions/dashboard-extensions/dashboard-plugins/supported-wix-app-dashboard-pages/wix-bookings/wix-bookings-booking-policies-page#slot-staff-assignment). This extension presents a configuration UI where Wix users can learn about your sorting algorithm and customize its parameters.

The data collections extension lets your app automatically create CMS collections with specified schemas and optional initial data when installed on a site. The site’s code editor is enabled so your app can reliably use Wix Data APIs.

- Sign On: Authenticate members without passwords using Sign On, which automatically handles account creation when needed.  
- Logout: Handle secure logout flows with optional redirects for improved user experience and security.

You can now access a new `urlExpirationDate` field for image and file items in messages using the Inbox Messages API. This field specifies the expiry timestamp for the media file’s access URL.

The new Communication Channels Media API lets you manage media files in the [Media Manager](https://support.wix.com/en/article/wix-media-about-the-media-manager) for use in messages sent through communication channels. You can upload, access, and import media files, and monitor your media storage usage.

We've released a [new Wix CLI](https://dev.wix.com/docs/wix-cli) that combines app and headless development in a single tool. Find everything you need in the new CLI reference, including comprehensive guides to help you create, develop, and deploy your projects.
