# About the Member Report Overviews API

The Member Report Overviews API provides a per-member summary of [member reports](https://dev.wix.com/docs/api-reference/crm/members-contacts/members/activity/member-reports/introduction.md). Each member report overview shows how many times a member was reported, when they were last reported, and whether their reports were reviewed. Use it to build moderation views, such as a list of the most reported members on a site.

With the Member Report Overviews API, you can [query](https://dev.wix.com/docs/api-reference/crm/members-contacts/members/activity/member-report-overview-v1/query-member-report-overviews.md) member report overviews, filtering and sorting by report count, review status, and last report date.

## Overview lifecycle

You don't create, update, or delete member report overviews directly. They're maintained automatically as members are reported:

- An overview is created the first time a member is [reported](https://dev.wix.com/docs/api-reference/crm/members-contacts/members/activity/member-reports/report-member.md).
- Each additional report about the member increases `reportCount`, updates `lastReportDate`, and resets `reviewed` to `false`.
- When a member who created a report is deleted from the site, their reports are deleted and `reportCount` decreases. If no reports remain, the overview is removed.
- The overview is removed when all reports about the member are [deleted](https://dev.wix.com/docs/api-reference/crm/members-contacts/members/activity/member-reports/delete-member-reports.md), or when the reported member is deleted from the site.

To retrieve the individual reports behind an overview, call [Query Member Reports](https://dev.wix.com/docs/api-reference/crm/members-contacts/members/activity/member-reports/query-member-reports.md) and filter by `reportedMemberId`.

## Before you begin

It's important to note the following points before starting to code:

- A site must have the [Wix Members Area](https://www.wix.com/app-market/web-solution/members-area) installed from the App Market.
- A member report overview's `id` is the same as its `reportedMemberId`.

## Use cases

- [Show the most reported members](https://dev.wix.com/docs/api-reference/crm/members-contacts/members/activity/member-report-overview-v1/sample-flows.md#show-the-most-reported-members)
- [Find members with new unreviewed reports](https://dev.wix.com/docs/api-reference/crm/members-contacts/members/activity/member-report-overview-v1/sample-flows.md#find-members-with-new-unreviewed-reports)

## Terminology

- **Member report**: A report submitted by a member about inappropriate behavior by another member.
- **Member report overview**: A summary of all reports about a single member, including the number of reports and the date of the most recent one.
