# getExtensionId()

Gets the extension ID of the page the editor bound your extension to, or `undefined` if the page isn't one of your app's page extensions.

> **Note:** This method is available for site page extensions. It's not available from a site widget or plugin's settings panel. It rejects there with an internal host error. See the [Page API introduction](https://dev.wix.com/docs/sdk/host-modules/editor/page/introduction.md) for details.

## Syntax

```js
function getExtensionId(): Promise<string | undefined>
```

## Parameters

This method doesn't take any parameters.

## Returns

`Promise<string | undefined>`

The page extension's ID, or `undefined` if the current page isn't a page extension owned by your app.

## Example

```js
import { page } from '@wix/editor';

async function getCurrentPageExtensionId() {
  const extensionId = await page.getExtensionId();
}
```
