About the Accessibility and Devices APIs

The Accessibility and Devices APIs tell you about a site visitor's device and preferences, and help site visitors who use a keyboard move through the page. Use them to adapt a component to how each site visitor uses a Wix site.

The Accessibility and Devices category includes the following APIs:

  • Device Info API: Tells you what class of device the site visitor is using, such as a smartphone or a tablet, and whether they've asked their system to minimize motion. Use it to adapt a component's behavior to the device, and to skip animations and autoplaying video for site visitors who prefer reduced motion.
  • Tabbing API: Keeps keyboard focus inside an overlay, such as a dialog, a popup, or a menu, while it's open. Use it so site visitors who move through the page with Tab and Shift+Tab can't reach controls hidden behind the overlay.
