About the Site SDKs

Note: The Site SDKs are for Studio Two sites. For sites built in Wix Studio or Wix Editor, use the frontend modules instead.

The Site SDKs give frontend code running on a Wix site access to the site and to the page it's on. Use them to build components that fit the site they're added to. They can link to the site's pages, follow its language and theme, load efficiently, and adapt to the site visitor's device.

The Site SDKs fall into the following categories:

  • Pages and Navigation: Find the site's pages, build links to them, send site visitors to them, and open popups over them.
  • Site Settings: Read the site's language, regional format, theme, and name, and show your component's text in the page's language.
  • Rendering and Performance: Find out where and for whom the page is rendering, and control what loads first.
  • Accessibility and Devices: Adapt a component to the site visitor's device and motion preference, and keep keyboard focus inside an overlay while it's open.

Before you begin

It's important to note the following points before starting to code:

  • Use the APIs in a React component. Each API's introduction shows how to access it from a component in its SDK setup section.
