# URL Properties

## currentUrl

**Type:** `string` (read-only)

Full URL of the page a site visitor is on, including the query string.

In the browser, it returns the browser's current address each time you access it, so it reflects
client-side navigation. Nothing notifies you when it changes, so read it when you need the value,
such as in an event handler, rather than storing it once. While the page renders on the server, it's
the URL of the page request.

### Example

```json
"https://www.example.com/shop?sort=price"
```

---

## siteUrl

**Type:** `string` (read-only)

Public root URL of the site.

On a free Wix domain, this includes the site's path prefix. This value doesn't change for the
lifetime of the page.

Prepend it to a URL from `appSectionRelativeUrl()` to build an absolute link. A root-relative link,
such as `/booking-checkout`, drops the path prefix on a free Wix domain.

For example, `https://www.example.com` or `https://example.wixsite.com/mysite`.

### Example

```json
"https://www.example.com"
```
