# About Context Provider Extensions

A [context provider](https://dev.wix.com/docs/overview/extensions-framework/site-extensions/context-providers.md) extension shares state and behavior with components through editor binding. Studio Two labels this extension type **Data Source**, while its generated files and APIs use context provider terminology.
