# About Embedded Scripts

An [embedded script](https://dev.wix.com/docs/overview/extensions-framework/site-extensions/embedded-scripts.md) is an HTML fragment injected into the DOM of a Wix site. This reference is the contract for a script you add as an extension: the generated files, the configuration object, and the HTML fragment.

A Studio Two site project and a Wix CLI app both use this configuration object and an HTML fragment. A Studio Two project also generates `logger.ts`. Self-managed apps declare the script in the App Dashboard instead of these files.
