App Skills extensions let you declare skills for Aria, the Wix AI assistant. A skill is a named set of reference documentation that guides Aria through a task.
Follow the instructions below to:
Note: You can also ask Aria to create and customize the extension.
To add an App Skills extension:
In the Studio Two editor, open the Code tab.
In the VS Code sidebar, open the Wix Extension Builder.

Under Create an Extension, choose Backend, then App Skills.
Fill in the form:
Click Generate.
You can find the new file under src/extensions/backend/app-skills/<extension-name>/. The extension is registered in your project's extensions.ts and listed under My Extensions. The configuration file <extension-name>.extension.ts declares your skills. For what's in the file, see App Skills Extension Files and Code.
A site can have only 1 App Skills extension. If you already have one, add your skills to its skills array instead of generating a second extension. Generating a duplicate blocks Publish.
You can edit the generated file to match the skills you want to offer. Change the code yourself, or ask the AI in the Code tab to help.
For the full walkthrough, see Build an App Skills Extension in Studio Two.
For example, to declare a skill that guides Aria through a refund request:
Open <extension-name>.extension.ts.
Add an entry to the skills array:
Save the file.
When a Wix user asks Aria a question that matches the skill's description, Aria follows the skill's guidelines.
Your skills only become available to Aria after you publish.
To publish your site:
To check that Aria can discover and follow your skill:
refund-request skill, ask "A customer wants a refund for order 12345. What should I reply?"If the skill is discoverable, Aria replies by following the skill's guidelines, such as asking for the order number and the reason for the refund.
