# About Dashboard Pages

A [dashboard page](https://dev.wix.com/docs/overview/extensions-framework/dashboard-extensions/dashboard-pages.md) is a full-page destination in the Wix site dashboard. In Studio Two you add one from the **Code** tab through the **Wix Extension Builder**, so you can build a custom back office for the site.

For when to use a page versus a modal or another dashboard type, and for identity, permissions, and the APIs you call from the page, see [Dashboard Pages](https://dev.wix.com/docs/overview/extensions-framework/dashboard-extensions/dashboard-pages.md).

## Anatomy of a dashboard page

A dashboard page in a Studio Two project is a configuration file and the React code that implements it:

- The **page code** is the React component that renders in the dashboard.
- The **configuration file** declares the page's ID, title, route, and component path. For the full set of fields, see [Dashboard Page Extension Files and Code](https://dev.wix.com/docs/dashboard-extensions/dashboard-pages/dashboard-page-extension-files-and-code.md).

You generate the files first, then edit the React component to match the look and behavior you need. For that workflow end to end, see [Build a Dashboard Page in Studio Two](https://dev.wix.com/docs/studio-two/code-your-site/build-a-custom-dashboard/dashboard-pages/build-a-dashboard-page-in-studio-two.md).

## How dashboard pages are used

- You add the page from the **Code** tab through the **Wix Extension Builder**, which puts its files in your site project and registers it.
- After you publish the site, a Wix user opens the page in the Wix site dashboard.
- From the page you can call the Dashboard SDK and other Wix APIs. To send the Wix user to another dashboard page, see [Navigate Between Dashboard Pages in Studio Two](https://dev.wix.com/docs/studio-two/code-your-site/build-a-custom-dashboard/dashboard-pages/navigate-between-dashboard-pages-in-studio-two.md).
