Import Changes to Your Site

Alpha: Exporting your site to code is currently in alpha. This feature is subject to change and may have bugs, issues, and limitations. We're actively improving it based on your feedback.

Import an exported site back into Studio Two to save the changes you made outside Wix. The import doesn't publish the site. You review the result in the editor and publish when you're ready.

Important: The import replaces the site with the exported site's version. It deletes pages that aren't in the exported site, and it overwrites any changes made in Studio Two since you exported. For details, see Import back into Studio Two.

Before you begin

Make sure you have:

  • An exported site with its packages installed, whose changes pass the lint. The exported site includes the Wix CLI and the site export commands. Make sure the CLI is logged in to your Wix account.
  • No changes made to the site in Studio Two since you exported it, or you're ready to lose them.

Import your changes

To import your changes:

  1. In the root of the exported site, run:

    Copy
  2. If the import lists images that aren't in Wix Media yet, enter y to upload them to the site's Media Manager. Images that aren't in Wix Media don't display on the imported site. These are usually images added from a URL or from a file on your computer.

  3. Check the output. It shows how many pages the import added and deleted.

  4. Open the site in the Studio Two editor and review the changes.

  5. Publish the site from the editor when you're ready.

  6. Before you make more changes, export the site again in the root of the exported site, so you work from the site's current version.
