# Introduction
A [date picker](https://dev.wix.com/docs/develop-websites/articles/wix-editor-elements/formatting-layout/formatting-dates.md#displaying-dates-in-date-pickers) is used for entering dates. It lets site visitors populate a date field by picking a date using a calendar popup. You can enable and disable dates, date ranges, and days of the week on your date picker.
