# wix token

Prints the current access token, refreshing it if needed. Use the token to authenticate direct calls to the Wix REST API from scripts and agents, for example in an `Authorization` header.

## Usage

```bash
wix token [flags]
```

The command prints the token and nothing else, so you can use it inline, for example in a `curl` request:

```bash
-H "Authorization: $(wix token --site <site-id>)"
```

## Flags

The following flag is available for the `wix token` command:

| Flag | Description |
| ---- | ----------- |
| `-s, --site <site-id>` | Gets a site-scoped access token instead of an account-level one. Site-scoped calls, such as reading or writing a site's content, need this token. |

> **Note:** Tokens are short-lived, so don't store one in a file. Run `wix token` whenever you need a token, and the CLI refreshes it when it expires.
