# About Info Sections

The Info Sections API allows you to create and manage info sections,
which can then be assigned to products using the [Products API](fallback::https://dev.wix.com/docs/rest/business-solutions/stores/catalog-v3/products-v3/introduction). 

Info sections are displayed on your site, allowing store owners to provide detailed, organized,
and comprehensive information about their products.

This API provides all the necessary functionality to manage a bank of info sections,
which can be applied to products to ensure a consistent info sections experience across your store. 


With the Info Sections API, you can:
- Create and manage a bank of info sections.
- Retrieve information about existing info sections.

## Before you begin
It’s important to note the following point before starting to code:
* The site owner must install the Wix Stores app.

# Sample Use Cases and Flows

This article shares a possible use case your app could support, as well as sample flows that could support this use case.
This can be a helpful jumping-off point as you plan your app's implementation.

## Create a product with a new info section

To create a product and assign a new info section with a single API call:
Call [Create Product](fallback::https://dev.wix.com/docs/rest/business-solutions/stores/catalog-v3/products-v3/create-product) and pass 
the `uniqueName` and `title` to the `product.infoSections` array.

> **Note:** if an info section with `infoSection.uniqueName` already exists, the call will fail.

## Assign an existing info section to a product

The Info Sections API allows you to create and update multiple info sections.
You can then use and reuse these info sections and assign them across multiple products.

To create and assign an info section to a product:
1. Call [Create Info Section](fallback::https://dev.wix.com/docs/rest/business-solutions/stores/catalog-v3/info-sections-v3/create-info-section).
2. Save the `infoSection.id` or `infoSection.uniqueName` from the info section you created. 
3. Call [Create Product](fallback::https://dev.wix.com/docs/rest/business-solutions/stores/catalog-v3/products-v3/create-product) 
or [Update Product](fallback::https://dev.wix.com/docs/rest/business-solutions/stores/catalog-v3/products-v3/update-product),
and pass either the `infoSection.id` or the `infoSection.uniqueName` to the `infoSections` array.

# Info Sections: Supported Filters and Sorting

The following table shows field support for filters and sorting for the info section object:
