The manifest is a TypeScript configuration object that describes a function library. At design time, the editor reads it to show each function as a connectable option wherever a Wix user binds a compatible slot. On the published site, the manifest tells Wix where to load the library's implementation.
Function libraries are currently only available for Studio Two sites.
A function library manifest has the following top-level fields:
| Field | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
id | Yes | UUID that uniquely identifies the library. |
type | Yes | Globally unique identifier for the library, in the form codeIdentifier.libraryName. In a Studio Two site, codeIdentifier is always companionApp, and libraryName is a name you pick. |
functions | Yes | Map of the functions the library exposes, keyed by function name. |
resources | Yes | Path to the library's implementation. |
name | No | Name of the library shown in the editor. |
description | No | Description of the library's main use cases. |
For an example of a manifest and its implementation file together, see Function Library Extension Files and Code.
