New Release: Tax APIs and SPIs

The Tax service allows you to manage and customize tax calculations. Wix calculates tax based on tax regions, tax groups, and a tax calculator to apply specific tax rates to a site’s sales. Each of these factors can be customized with the following APIs and SPIs:

Tax Regions API: Create and manage tax regions to apply different tax treatment based on the location of a sale.
Tax Groups API: Create and manage tax groups to categorize products for sale based on distinct tax treatment.
Tax Calculation API: Retrieve the tax calculators available to a site and calculate tax.
Tax Groups Integration SPI: Create a new tax group to apply, by default, to an entire catalog of products.
Tax Calculation Integration SPI: Calculate tax based on your own customized logic.

New Release: Wix eCommerce Custom Discount Triggers SPI

Wix eCommerce introduces the new Custom Discount Triggers SPI. This SPI allows third parties to create custom triggers that specify when a discount rule can apply to a cart and checkout. Learn more about the Discount Rules API.

Wix calls List Triggers to retrieve the custom triggers from an implementer.
Wix calls Get Eligible Triggers to check if a custom trigger should apply to the cart or checkout.

New Endpoint: OAuth 2 API

The OAuth 2 API now includes a new endpoint: Create Access Token. This endpoint allows you to generate access tokens for the new basic OAuth.

Basic OAuth is a simplified implementation of the OAuth protocol that Wix has introduced. It follows the OAuth Client Credentials framework. This implementation greatly reduces the complexity of app development, as 3rd-party apps no longer need to fully implement the OAuth 2.0 protocol. As part of this release, the existing OAuth strategy within Wix has been renamed to advanced OAuth. Learn more about basic and advanced OAuth.

New Release: Operations API

The Operations API allows you to create, retrieve, and manage operations for restaurants. An operation refers to different services a restaurant may offer. For example, a restaurant may offer a takeaway operation and a catering operation, where each one would work with different time frames, availabilities, and fees.

With the Operations API, you can:

Create, update, and delete operations.
Get, list and query existing operations.

New Release: Service Fees API

The Service Fees API allows you to create, retrieve, and manage service fee rules for restaurants and apply them to orders. A service fee is an additional fee that's applied to an order when specified conditions are met.

With the Service Fees API, you can:

Create, update, and delete service fee rules.
Get, list and query existing service fee rules.
Calculate the service fees that should be applied to an order.

The Fulfillment Methods API allows you to create, retrieve, and manage fulfillment methods for restaurants. A fulfillment method is a method by which a restaurant can provide its customers their orders.

Get, list and query existing fulfillment methods.

New Release: Custom Charges SPI

The Custom Charges SPI allows 3rd parties to manage usage-based pricing for their app.

Add your app's custom charges to the invoice that Wix sends to site owners.
Receive notifications about charges that Wix doesn't accept, invoices created, or when users increase their charge limit.
Keep your users informed about how much your app would charge them if Wix were to send an invoice at this moment.

New Release: More eCommerce APIs

Wix eCommerce introduces new functionality to the Orders, Order Transactions, and Order Invoices APIs that provide developers with a growing set of services for customizing eCommerce functionality on Wix sites. The APIs include the following endpoints and webhooks:

Create, update, and search orders.
Add payment records to an order.
Update a payment status or bulk update multiple payment statuses.
List invoices for multiple orders.
Webhooks that trigger when an order is created, updated, approved, or canceled.
Webhooks that trigger when payment or refund details are added to an order, or when an order's payment status is updated.

As part of this release, the Wix Stores Orders API has been deprecated and will be removed on June 30, 2024.

New Releases: Checkout Settings and Orders Settings

Wix eCommerce introduces the new Checkout Settings and Orders Settings APIs which allow an app to manage eCommerce settings relating to a site's checkout or orders. These settings include adding or removing eCommerce policies, setting checkbox behavior for a checkout, adding or removing customer email notifications about order status, defining when to update the store inventory, and creating invoices.

The new APIs include the following functionality:

Get and update a site's checkout settings.
Get and update a site's orders settings.
Webhooks that trigger when a site's checkout settings are updated, or when a site's orders settings are updated.

New Release: Checkout Templates

Wix eCommerce introduces the new Checkout Templates API which allows third parties to create and manage templates to share pre-populated checkouts with customers. When customers create checkouts from these templates, the new checkouts already include information such as predefined line items, coupons, or other customizations. The API includes the following endpoints:

Create checkout templates.
Create a new checkout from a checkout template.
Update or delete checkout templates.
Get or query checkout templates.
Webhooks that trigger when a template is created, updated, deleted, or when a checkout is created from a template.

Wix eCommerce introduces the new Payment Settings SPI which allows third parties to apply custom settings to the payment process. With Get Payment Settings third party developers can require 3 Domain Security on orders that meet certain, custom requirements.

New Release: Bookings Services V2 API

The Wix Bookings Services API enables you to manage the services your business provides. Enabling:

Creating a new Wix Bookings Service.
Updating an existing Wix Bookings Service.
Deleting an existing Wix Bookings Service.
Querying Wix Bookings Services based on certain criteria.

In addition, you may use events to be notified when a service is created, updated or deleted.

When a visitor signs up for non-transactional content, such as a newsletter, they are consenting to receive marketing messages. This agreement is called a marketing consent.

The Marketing Consent API allows your app to manage a site's marketing consent, including:

Creating and updating a visitor's marketing consent.
Getting a visitor's marketing consent by ID or communication details.
Querying visitor marketing consents.
Canceling a visitor's marketing consent.
Deleting a visitor's marketing consent entirely.

Your app can also listen for events when a visitor's marketing consent is created, updated, and deleted.

The Media Manager Files API now includes a new endpoint:

Bulk Import File imports a bulk of files to the Media Manager using external URLs. This replaces Bulk Import Files which has been deprecated and will be removed on March 31, 2024.

The Plans object has a new formId field, which is the ID of the order form associated with a plan at checkout.

The Orders object has a new formData object, which contains the following fields:

formId: the ID of the order form associated with a plan at checkout.
submissionId: the ID of the plan's order form submitted at checkout.
submissionData: the data submitted to the plan's order form at checkout.

Age of a customer before they proceed to checkout.

Valid coupon code.

Using the Get Validation Violations endpoint, third party developers can provide validation violations for the cart and checkout.

Wix eCommerce introduces the new Abandoned Checkouts API. When a customer begins an eCommerce Checkout process but doesn't complete it (for example, after closing their browser tab before putting in their payment details and making a payment), that checkout becomes an abandoned checkout.

The Abandoned Checkouts API allows you to help a customer recover their abandoned checkout (return to their incomplete checkout and complete the checkout).

The Abandoned Checkouts API provides the following functionalities:

Get an abandoned checkout.
Query abandoned checkouts.
An event when an abandoned checkout is created.
An event when an abandoned checkout is recovered.

New Releases: Stores Catalog API

New and Updated APIs

The new Bulk Update Products introduces bulk functionality for updating/setting a certain field for up to 100 products at a time.
The new Bulk Adjust Product Properties allows for bulk adjusting a certain numerical property (price, cost, or weight) for up to 100 products at a time.
The new Remove Brand introduces functionality for deleting a product's brand.
The new Remove Ribbon introduces functionality for deleting a product's ribbon. Ribbons can be used to draw attention to products you want to promote.

New Data

A new query param was added to the Get Product API - includeMerchantSpecificData. This boolean determines whether merchant specific data, such as cost and profit data, is included in the response.
A new query param was added to the Get Collection API - includeNumberOfProducts. This boolean determines whether a field named numberOfProducts is included in the response.
The new product.costAndProfitData field holds information about a product's cost of goods, profit, and margin. Learn more about calculating the cost of goods for a product.
The new product.costRange, product.weightRange, and product.priceRange fields hold information about the minimum and maximum values of each. For example, the lightest and heaviest products/variants in a store's catalog.

New Webhook: Restaurants Orders API

The new New Order Webhook is triggered when an order is created. This means the order has been validated and the payment has cleared, and now the site owner can accept or cancel the order.

This replaces the Order Created webhook, which has been deprecated and will be removed on September 30, 2022.

New Fields: Wix Groups API

The Wix Groups API has renamed some fields, resulting in deprecating some existing fields. The deprecated fields will be removed on June 30, 2022. In addition, the memberIds parameter in Approve Join Group Requests will be required after June 30, 2022.

New Webhooks and Endpoints: Contacts API

The new Contact Merged Webhook is triggered when source contacts are merged to a target contact. The new originatedFrom property is sent as merge when Contact Updated Webhook or Contact Deleted Webhook are triggered as the result of merging, allowing you to ignore redundant events.

The Query Labels and Query Extended Fields endpoints are also now available.
