About the Sites APIs

Sites provide access to information and management capabilities for Wix sites within an account. Sites allow site owners, resellers, agencies, and 3rd party developers to retrieve site details, organize sites into folders, and perform actions such as publishing.

With the Sites APIs you can:

• Retrieve public details about Wix sites, including their name, URL, status, owner, and more.
• Perform site-related actions, such as publishing updates made in the Wix editor.
• Organize sites into folders for better account management.

Terminology

• Site: A website within a Wix account. Access to sites depends on the user's permissions.
• Folder: A grouping of sites that users can create for organizational purposes. Each site belongs to only one folder.
• Account: A Wix account that contains sites, folders, premium plans, and more. An account may have one or multiple users.
• Publishing: When a site built with a Wix editor is published, it becomes visible on the internet. Subsequent publishes update the live site with the latest changes.
