Submit Your App For Review

There are two scenarios when you need to submit your app for review – once when you're adding it to the App Market for the first time, and then again each time you publish a new version of the app.

A member of our team will review the app in both instances to make sure it meets our criteria, and either approve it or give you feedback if something needs changing.

Here's how it works for both.

Submit your first version

Once you've built your app, added it to the Wix Developers Center, completed all the required info, and tested it, you can submit it to the App Market.

We'll review your app and be in touch within 15 business days with the results. During this time the app will be locked and you won't be able to make any changes.

Here's what to do:

  1. Log in to your account in the Wix Developers Center and click the relevant app.
  2. Go to Submit App at the bottom of the side menu.
  3. Click into either item to open the Submission Summary and complete any outstanding items:
    • Blockers: these items are critical and must be fixed before you submit your app
    • Recommendations: these items are highly recommended to support your app's success, but won't prevent you submitting your app

  1. When complete, you'll be able to click Submit App.
  2. Fill out the submission form with any info that we should know.
  3. Click Submit.

Your app is submitted for review – we'll be in touch soon. You can follow the status of your approval on the Versions page of the Wix Developers Center.

What to tell us when submitting your app

When you submit your app to the App Market, there's a few bits of info we need to help review it thoroughly.

  1. Your demo credentials (username/email and password) with full access for the duration of the review.
  2. A quick review of the installation flow.
  3. Tell us about any accessibility or compatibility issues (e.g., if it’s geo-locked or restricted in another way). In this case, please provide a link to a video showcasing that part’s functionality.
  4. Attach any screenshots that show us how your app uses its relevant permissions.
  5. If you're authorized to use specific trademarks etc. that are displayed in the app, include all relevant documentation proving your authorization.
  6. You need to answer a few questions about how you store and manage user data the first time you submit your app, and again every time something changes – you can find this in the Security and Privacy tab in the Wix Developers Center.

Security and privacy form

The security and privacy of user data is something Wix takes very seriously, and that's why we need to ask all app developers to answer a few questions on how they store, process, and secure any user data they collect.

You need to do this:

  • Before you submit your app for review
  • If you're an existing app that hasn't previously submitted the Security & Privacy form when you were first published
  • Each time you make changes to your app and resubmit your app for approval
  1. Go to the Security & Privacy tab in the Wix Developers Center.
  2. Answer all questions in the form.
  3. Check the box at the bottom confirming that your answers are accurate.
  4. Click Save.

Publish a new version of your app

Every time you make an update to your app you'll need to submit the new version for review. This is normally a bit quicker than your first submission as often there's less for our team to check.

  4. When complete, you'll be able to click Submit App.
  5. Fill out the submission form with any info that we should know.
  6. Click Submit.
