# About the Sender Details APIs

With Sender Details you can manage the senders for your email campaigns. Each sender consists of a name and a verified email address. You can have multiple senders, enabling different email addresses for different parts of your business, such as `bookings@website.com` and `sales@website.com`.

# About Sender Details

With the Sender Details API you can manage senders for your email campaigns. Sender details consist of a name and an email address, where the email address must be verified through the [Sender Emails](https://dev.wix.com/docs/sdk/backend-modules/sender-emails/sender-emails/introduction) API beforehand.    

You can have multiple senders per site. Using multiple senders allows your letters to come from addresses associated with specific parts of your business. For example, you could have one automated email from `bookings@website.com` and another from `sales@website.com`.

## Before you begin

It's important to note the following:

- The first sender you create is automatically marked as the default.
- Currently, there's a limitation when publishing an email campaign with the [Campaign](https://dev.wix.com/docs/sdk/backend-modules/email-marketing/campaigns/introduction) API. The API automatically publishes campaigns from the default sender only. Therefore, whenever you want to publish a different campaign, appropriate sender must be set as the default.
- If you didn't create any senders, your email campaigns are sent from a domain provided by Wix.
- You can't delete a default sender. To delete it, you must first create a new sender, mark it as the default, and only then delete the original sender.
- To add additional senders, you must have Core or Advanced Email Marketing [plans](https://support.wix.com/en/article/email-marketing-upgrading-your-email-marketing-plan).
- You can't have multiple senders with the same name and email address. If you want to use the same email for multiple senders, the names must be different.

## Terminology

- **Sender:** A combination of a verified email address and a name used to represent the source of an email campaign.
- **Campaign:** A single, organized effort to send marketing emails to a list of recipients.
- **Verified Email:** An email address that has passed the verification process with the Sender Emails API, allowing it to be used in campaigns.

#### Install the package

Follow the installation instructions for your development environment.

Event ID. With this ID you can easily spot duplicated events and ignore them.

A sequence number that indicates the order of updates to an entity. For example, if an entity was updated at 16:00 and then again at 16:01, the second update will always have a higher sequence number.
You can use this number to make sure you're handling updates in the right order. Just save the latest sequence number on your end and compare it to the one in each new message. If the new message has an older (lower) number, you can safely ignore it.

Fully Qualified Domain Name of an entity. This is a unique identifier assigned to the API main business entities.
For example, `wix.stores.catalog.product`, `wix.bookings.session`, `wix.payments.transaction`.

entityFqdn

ID of the entity associated with the event.

entityId

Event timestamp in [ISO-8601](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_8601) format and UTC time. For example, `2020-04-26T13:57:50.699Z`.

eventTime

eventType

The identification type and identity data.

identity

instanceId

If present, indicates the action that triggered the event.

originatedFrom

Event action name, placed at the top level to make it easier for users to dispatch messages.
For example: `created`/`updated`/`deleted`/`started`/`completed`/`email_opened`.

slug

Whether the event was triggered as a result of a privacy regulation application
(for example, GDPR).

ExtendedFields

Extended field data. Each key corresponds to the namespace of the app that created the extended fields.
The value of each key is structured according to the schema defined when the extended fields were configured.

You can only access fields for which you have the appropriate permissions.
