generateFileUploadUrl( )

Generates a secure upload URL for storing a file in the Media Manager.

To upload the file to the Media Manager after calling this method, call the Media Manager's Upload API with the uploadUrl response.

Call this method to upload files to the Media Manager from a local device, such as a computer or phone.

Note: Due to limits on the size and duration of files that you can upload, we recommend importing files to the Media Manager by calling the Import File method. See Wix Media: Supported Media File Types and File Sizes for more details.

Authentication
  • When developing websites or building an app with Blocks, this method may require elevated permissions, depending on the identity of the user calling it and the calling user's permissions.
  • When building apps without Blocks or for headless projects, you can only call this method directly when authenticated as a Wix app or Wix user identity. When authenticated as a different identity, you can call this method using elevation.
  • Elevation permits users to call methods they typically cannot access. Therefore, you should only use it intentionally and securely.
