Blog Settings API: Sample Flows

This article presents possible use cases and corresponding sample flows that you can support. It provides a useful starting point as you plan your implementation.

Localize the all-posts feed label

A site shows an all-posts feed in more than one language. You want the feed label in French to read "Tous les articles" without changing the primary-language label.

To localize the all-posts feed label:

  1. Call Get Blog Settings and save revision and the current allPostsFeedLabel.
  2. Call Update Blog Settings. Specify language as fr-FR, set allPostsFeedLabel to the translated label, and pass the revision from the previous step.
  3. Call Get Blog Settings with language set to fr-FR and confirm the translated label. Call it again without language and confirm the primary label is unchanged.

Require a rating on comments

You want every new comment to include a rating. Comments stay on, and visitors who are not signed in still cannot comment.

To require a rating on comments:

  1. Call Get Blog Settings and save revision.
  2. Call Update Blog Settings with that revision. Set comments.enabled and comments.ratingsEnabled and comments.ratingsMandatory to true, and set comments.anonymousEnabled to false.
