Deprecated API: Bookings Velo wix-bookings-backend Resources API

The [$w Breadcrumbs](https://dev.wix.com/docs/velo/velo-only-apis/$w/breadcrumbs/introduction) element now supports the `ariaLabel` property in its `accessibility` object. This allows you to specify a custom [ARIA label](https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/Accessibility/ARIA/Reference/Attributes/aria-label) for Breadcrumbs, improving accessibility for assistive technology users. 

New param: $w Breadcrumbs accessibility ariaLabel property

The `accessibility` object for supported $w elements now includes these additional properties: 
- `ariaAtomic`
- `ariaBusy`
- `ariaControls`
- `ariaErrorMessage`
- `ariaLive`
- `ariaOwns`
- `ariaRelevant`

Note that not all elements support the `accessibility` object, and support for individual accessibility properties varies by element. For example:
- [TextBox](https://dev.wix.com/docs/velo/velo-only-apis/$w/text-box/accessibility) supports 6 of the 7 new properties. 
- [MultiStateBox](https://dev.wix.com/docs/velo/velo-only-apis/$w/multi-state-box/accessibility) supports a different set of 6 of the new properties.

The Wix Chat Backend API has been deprecated.

- The `sendMessage()` function has been replaced with the Inbox SDK  [`sendMessage()`](https://dev.wix.com/docs/sdk/backend-modules/inbox/messages/send-message) method.
- Events have been replaced with [Velo Inbox Events](https://dev.wix.com/docs/velo/events-service-plugins/inbox/events/on-message-sent-to-business).

The [Data Hooks](https://dev.wix.com/docs/velo/events-service-plugins/data/hooks/wix-data-hooks/introduction) module includes two new hooks:

- [`beforeDistinct()`](https://dev.wix.com/docs/velo/events-service-plugins/data/hooks/wix-data-hooks/before-distinct): Runs before a [distinct query](https://dev.wix.com/docs/velo/apis/wix-data/wix-data-distinct/introduction) operation.
- [`afterDistinct()`](https://dev.wix.com/docs/velo/events-service-plugins/data/hooks/wix-data-hooks/after-distinct): Runs after a [distinct query](https://dev.wix.com/docs/velo/apis/wix-data/wix-data-distinct/introduction) operation.

To refine a distinct query, use [`WixDataDistinct`](https://dev.wix.com/docs/velo/apis/wix-data/wix-data-distinct/introduction) methods in the [`beforeDistinct()`](https://dev.wix.com/docs/velo/events-service-plugins/data/hooks/wix-data-hooks/before-distinct) hook.

New hooks: Data API

The Window Frontend API has a new registerEventListener() method.

The Text Effects element is a decorative text element with which you can display text with styles, colors, fonts, and graphic effects, such as shadows, outlines, and gradients.

This element is only available in Wix Studio and is not yet available to all users.

# About the Custom Trigger API

The Custom Trigger API allows you to run automations on a Wix site from your code.

Automations created as part of an app or on a site have a set [trigger](fallback::https://dev.wix.com/docs/rest/business-management/automations/triggers/about-triggers) that causes them to run. The trigger is typically a business event like a member login or invoice payment. An automation only runs for that specific event.

Using the Custom Trigger API, you can run an automation without tying it to a single specific event or creating a trigger in the app dashboard. This gives you greater control and flexibility over when your automations execute.

The API includes a single method, [Run Trigger](fallback::https://dev.wix.com/docs/rest/business-management/automations/triggers/custom-trigger/run-trigger), that you can call anywhere in your code.

## Before you begin

- You must have the [trigger ID](fallback::https://dev.wix.com/docs/develop-websites/articles/coding-with-velo/automations/about-custom-triggers#the-trigger-id) of any automations you want to run.
- If the custom trigger includes a [payload schema](fallback::https://dev.wix.com/docs/develop-websites/articles/coding-with-velo/automations/about-custom-triggers#the-payload-schema), you need to know the fields it contains.

## Use cases

- Create a contact on a button click.
- Update a Google sheet when a user inputs a value.

This article shares some possible use cases your implementation could support, as well as an example flow that could support each use case. You're certainly not limited to these use cases, but they can be a helpful jumping off point as you plan your implementation.

## Send an email on a button click

Send an email to site collaborators when a visitor to your site clicks a button.

1. In the [Automations](fallback::https://www.wix.com/my-account/site-selector/?buttonText=Select%20Site&title=Select%20a%20Site&autoSelectOnSingleSite=true&actionUrl=https:%2F%2Fwww.wix.com%2Fdashboard%2F%7B%7BmetaSiteId%7D%7D%2Ftriggers) page of your site dashboard, create an automation in the automation builder. Choose **Velo code trigger** as the automation trigger and copy its trigger ID. Choose **Send an email** as an action.
1. In the editor, create a button on your site page and add an [`onClick()`](fallback::https://dev.wix.com/docs/velo/velo-only-apis/$w/button/on-click) handler for it in the page code.
1. Add a [web method](fallback::https://dev.wix.com/docs/develop-websites/articles/coding-with-velo/backend-code/web-modules/about-web-modules#web-methods) in your backend code that wraps [`runTrigger()`](fallback::https://dev.wix.com/docs/sdk/backend-modules/automations/triggers/custom-trigger/run-trigger).
1. Export the web method to your page code. Inside the `onClick()` handler, call the web method.

## Update a Google sheet when a user inputs a value

Update a Google sheet when a text input field loses focus after a site visitor enters data.

1. In the [Automations](fallback::https://www.wix.com/my-account/site-selector/?buttonText=Select%20Site&title=Select%20a%20Site&autoSelectOnSingleSite=true&actionUrl=https:%2F%2Fwww.wix.com%2Fdashboard%2F%7B%7BmetaSiteId%7D%7D%2Ftriggers) page of your site dashboard, create an automation in the automation builder.
1. Choose **Velo code trigger** as the automation trigger and copy its trigger ID. [Configure the trigger payload](fallback::https://dev.wix.com/docs/develop-websites/articles/coding-with-velo/automations/add-a-custom-trigger#define-the-payload-structure-optional) with at least 1 field.
1. Choose **Update Google Sheets** as an action. Connect your Google account if necessary, then select a sheet and match the sheet columns to the payload fields.
1. In the editor, create an input field and add an [`onBlur()`](fallback::https://dev.wix.com/docs/velo/velo-only-apis/$w/text-input/on-blur) handler for it in the page code.
1. Add a [web method](fallback::https://dev.wix.com/docs/develop-websites/articles/coding-with-velo/backend-code/web-modules/about-web-modules#web-methods) in your backend code that wraps [`runTrigger()`](fallback::https://dev.wix.com/docs/sdk/backend-modules/automations/triggers/custom-trigger/run-trigger).
1. Export the web method to your page code. Inside the `onBlur()` handler, call the web method. Pass in a payload that matches the schema structure you defined. Include the input field value in this payload.
